Artist Statement:
I have been doing photography since early 1970 and have loved every minute of it. I believe that if you really love what you do you will excel at it.
After spending most of my career shooting for architects, home magazines, and interior designers, as well as teaching, I am finally getting to show some of the work I do from my heart. There are no deadlines or parameters on what I create. It’s just a blank canvas and I am still discovering myself. It’s all intuitive.
I have always specialized in color work. The light, of course is foremost. It’s the photographers’ palette of paint. I love digital. The myriad of controls one has over an image and the many beautiful choices of print papers that are available make this new method most exciting. I think we are only seeing the emerging tip of this medium.
It is difficult to put into words what I feel when I am looking through the lens. It’s all about light and composition. I attempt to capture the moment in time as well as the constant that remains, images to make us aware of the fragility of where we walk
